We are currently recruiting for a Senior Operations Manager to join our blocks team which are based across our sites in Alfreton and Stanford-le-Hope. The location of the candidate can be flexible but you must be flexible to travel to the Blocks plants.

Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Product Line Director, in the role of Senior Operations Manager you will be responsible for:


Overall accountability for the safety, leadership, development and performance of the Aircrete Block sites
Act as the key member of the Blocks Leadership team and contributor to the overall strategic plan for the business
Delivering transformational plans to fundamentally shift the scale and performance of the UK operation and unlock full potential of CRH/Tarmac capability
Build links with CRH worldwide manufacturing businesses (Amercias, Europe & International domains) to deliver best in class performance
Lead operational performance growth, delivering year-on-year OEE improvements, minimise waste and deliver energy (gas & electricity) reduction targets
Lead the business optimisation plan, generating tangible performance improvements across all operational areas
Identifying, scoping and delivering strategic capital projects to innovate and transform operational performance and output
Delivering improvements in technology and automation across the manufacturing footprint
Decarbonising operations, delivering a 25% reduction in Co2 at each site by 2030 and executing strategy for carbon neutrality by 2050
Owning the succession plan and build talent at all levels of the operational structure

The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role of Senior Operations Manager will have experience within a senior operational role as well as experience of:
