Logistics Assistant Manager

DC Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced individual looking to take the next step in their career as Assistant Logistics & Distribution Manager for our client in Whetstone, LE8.
The Logistics and Distribution Assistant Manager will be focused on supporting the accomplishment of objectives that have been outlined by the Logistics and Distribution Planning Manager. They will be working to achieve customer satisfaction in the areas of OTD, while supervising the day-to-day operations within the warehouse. We are looking for a person with strong leadership skills, who can continue to assist in the management of an existing well-run team.
Pay:
£26,000-£29,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours:
8:30am-5pm Monday – Friday

Role will include:
Manage and monitor incoming orders from customers
Warehouse staff supervision/management
Reporting any issues to the Planning Manager
Ensuring that health and safety regulations are being adhered to
Recruit and induct new staff – also assist in the training and development of staff
Ensure all operational areas are fully maintained to regulatory and compliance standards
Manage the receipt, storage and despatch of all stock within agreed SLAs
Manage the team to ensure they are fully trained and working safely and effectively at all times
Constantly seek to improve warehouse performance, safety and efficiency
What we would need from yourself:
Leadership, management and coaching skills
A good understanding of warehouse logistics, distribution and supply chain processes
Capable of balancing commercial and operational needs
Comfortable engaging with both customers and directors
IT literate, ideally with experience using business systems, such as SAGE
Excellent communication skills, with a confident approach to supervising a team
Experience planning for a high turnover of deliveries/collections a week, with the capability to handle expansion
Customer-focused to provide an excellent experience
