SalaryLogistics Director
We are delighted to be working with one of our leading North West manufacturing clients to recruit a Logistics Director to join their successful business. Our client is a multisite operation running both manufacturing sites and local distribution centres. With a fleet of over 100 vehicles we are looking for a dynamic individual with experience of managing a large fleet and operating over several sites.
The Role
- Working closely with the Board of Directors in the strategic planning of the Logistics operation, formulating ideas for change and continuous improvement.
- Managing a budget of approximately £11m per annum
- Identifying opportunities to maximise the fleet, to include back loads
- Managing the relationships with sub-contractors
- Responsible for the purchase arrangements of new vehicles.
- Responsible for the use and implementation of planning software
- Collaborating with the distribution sites to align logistics strategies
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role - preferably multisite.
- Experience of managing a large fleet
- Experience of implementing change
- Experience of purchasing vehicles
- Experience of routing vehicles into Europe (preferred but not essential)
