Job description

A world-wide established logistics company are seeking a permanent Customer Services Operator/ Freight coordinator.  Hybrid role.

Working hours Mon - Fri, 37.5 hours

You will report to the Operations Supervisor, the position is responsible for the delivery of customer service excellence in line with contractual requirements, such as arranging both import and export shipments in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst achieving the required service levels and dealing with all shipping documentation.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Answers telephones, meets and greets visitors and contractors as per company policies/procedures
• Maintains records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines
• Attends and participates in internal meetings as appropriate
• Communicates and cooperates with internal departments as appropriate
• Participates in audits as appropriate
• Delivers a quality customer/client service
• Identifies potential for new business development (where appropriate)
• Adheres to and fully supports the company’s continuous improvement programme
• Organising diplomatic consignments, ensuring strict compliance all required paperwork, including customs processes, invoicing and all other essential air, courier, road and ocean Import/export related documentation.
• Review all customer bookings and clearance instructions, ensuring these are understood and followed.
• Ensure all delivered instructions are clear, concise and are provided in the correct format.
• Communicate with all operations to ensure the accuracy of consignment delivery.
• Processing of diplomatic shipment using the companies and third-party operating systems.
• Comply with all relevant work and safety legislation, standards and organisational procedures and UK security regulations.
• Experience within the airfreight, Sea Freight, courier and road products including Incoterms.
• Provide customer reports where required.
• Coordination with warehouse and transport teams to ensure error free handling of diplomatic material in line with contracted SLA’s.
• Control input and handling of customer complaints, issues, quality none compliance and operational irregularities with follow up and query resolution through the “Customer Relationship Management” (CRM) tools.
• Regular communication with the overseas branches ensuring that all issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
• Communicate with the airlines and the integrators regarding any service issues, ensuring that issues are resolved within a minimum timescale.
