Logistics (Import) Specialist

Subsea7 are looking for a motivated and efficient Logistics (Import) Specialist to join the SCM Logistics team.

The position forms an integral part of the logistics team specialising in the execution of all activities related to the importation and re-importation of a wide range of products used by Subsea7 in the pursuit of its business activities.

This staff role is based at West Campus Workshop & Logistics facility in Westhill, Aberdeenshire, however, some travel to other Aberdeen sites may be required.

What will you be doing?

The role offers a comprehensive and challenging scope of work involving a variety of activities associated with importing goods to the United Kingdom.

Being central to the provision of key information needed for the creation of import declarations this role presents opportunities for the Logistics (Import) Specialist to interface with a broad range of internal support functions and external service providers making the role vital to the effective management of import VAT and Customs Duty liabilities.

Key duties will be to:

• Proactively support internal customers namely Projects, Offshore Resources, Asset owners and Workshops with performance of all assigned import activities.
• Manage import clearance of shipments from vessels, global worksites and third-party suppliers through communication with internal customers and external logistics providers in accordance with the most appropriate HMRC regime when required.
• Process all third party freight partner costs by creation of purchase requisitions / service entries in line with internal process requirements as defined in our Standard Operating Procedure.
• Prepare information for management of the monthly Deferment and VAT PVA report.
• Participate on an out of hours emergency on-call rota with other team members.
• Assist with any other tasks that may be required for successful business delivery.

• Established knowledge and practical experience of local and international freight forwarding regulations including Incoterms and Customs regulations and how they apply to the business (UK Import knowledge preferred).
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, maintains positive collaborative relationships at all levels across a multicultural global environment.
• Ability to work with detail and accuracy.
• Effective planning and organising skills, able to identify and effectively prioritise workload and effectively meet multiple, often competing deadlines.
• Flexible to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced 24/7 global business.
• Demonstrates initiative and ownership to deliver workload unsupervised while flexible to support wider team activities.
• Committed to continuous improvement and identification of efficient work methods and processes.
• Proficient in MS Office 365, SAP ERP and Sharepoint experience would be desirable but not essential.
