We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Operations Manager with excellent motivational skills to lead and develop the teams within our operation, ensuring the provision of exceptional service to our customers and optimum efficiency of warehouse operations.
This position will be based at our large site in Swindon UK, please note some adhoc travel to other sites may be required.
How you will contribute
- Developing and improving operational processes
- Effective communication with customers and suppliers
- Internal and external stakeholder management
- Logistics planning
- Producing and delivering presentations
- Progress tracking & report compiling
- Working closely with IT to develop & maintain warehouse management systems
- Effective delegation of tasks to the team, setting SMART objectives and goals
- Monitoring and adhering to site Health & Safety including equipment and use
- Ensuring 5S is implemented & maintained in all areas of the site
- Ensuring compliance with Safe System of Work (SSOW) and best practice
- KPI adherence & continuous improvement
- Stock auditing as required by customer
- Quality and control checks
- Complete line management of the team, encompassing all procedures such as monitoring sick leave and absences and conducting return to work interviews, performance management, appraisals, learning and development plans, and full disciplinary and grievance procedures, including hearings and investigations
What you will bring
Essential
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of leading, developing, and motivating teams to achieve objectives
- Experience of customer facing operations
- Commercial awareness
- Good Knowledge of H&S legal and statutory requirements within a warehouse environment
- High level of IT/MS Office competency
- Good level of English, both oral and written.
- Management of staff within an operational environment
Desirable
- Experience within the logistics sector
- Experience within the automotive sector
- Management training qualification gained in house or externally
