A renowned Aerospace and Engineering organisation in Oxfordshire requires a Logistics Operative to join the Manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing and sub-contractors in supplying tooling, fixturing, gauges and consumable tooling.
- Undertake multi-skilled duties as may be allocated within Stores (Tool Stores, Main Stores & Raw Material Stores).
- Prepare, pack and label products and components for transport internally and to new and existing customers and suppliers to the required timescales.
- Carry out daily replenishment of Kanban locations throughout all manufacturing areas (twice daily).
- Serve individuals requiring tooling, fixturing and consumable goods (typically items not supplied via Kanban).
- Support sub-contractors tooling requests (typically via e-mail) making sure packaging is sufficient in protecting from damage in transportation. Logging the details of transfer onto ATMS (automated tooling management system).
- Work with ATMS making sure tooling, fixturing and gauge details are correct and amend as required.
- Check stock levels of tooling and consumables are correct and request amendments as required (via Tooling Engineer).
- Take receipt of replenishment tooling and consumables delivered via the Goods In department and put away.
- Monthly gauge calibration to be carried out with details of any discrepancies forwarded to the Calibration department and supervision notified (typically via e-mail).
- Conduct stock cycle counting throughout the year.
Skills & experience
- Basic stores and packing experience gained from a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Basic grounding in H&S policies and procedures.
- Can work under pressure to balance competing job priorities to agreed deadlines.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel.
- A structured and methodical work style.
- A completer finisher - i.e., someone who always finishes off a task with no loose ends.
- A good level of manual dexterity, reliable and conscientious
- Good work ethic / well motivated.
- Ability to follow instructions / requests whether verbal or written.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Team player (ability to work well with others).
