Role responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for a Lost Property Assistant to join our Stations team based at Newport on a permanent basis.
The Lost Property Assistant is responsible for the handling of items of property recovered across the TFW network, ensuring this is examined, catalogued, and stored in line with industry standards. Whilst delivering a high level of customer service to our passengers.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Deal with all customer correspondence relating to Lost Property in a professional manor, delivering a high customer service at all times.
- Maintain and utilise the Lost Property database and systems along with physically checking items in storage area, to assist with the identification of items from customer enquiries.
- Maintain audit trail by checking items against local station logs and reporting any anomalies to line manager.
- Conduct thorough searches of items, carefully recording any identifying features, entering full descriptive details on database.
- Working closely with our contact centre teams, as well as other stations across TFW network to assist with any enquiries and providing further information as and when requested.
Who we’re looking for
- Must be fully conversant with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communicator
- Well organised and able to work to sound processes
- Be able to understand basic railway operations
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
