Focussed primarily at our new flagship 335ha reserve at Lyscombe near Dorchester, you will be undertaking practical habitat restoration and creation, access improvements and engagement using a mix of traditional conservation and natural processes. Lyscombe lies in a stunning landscape and includes chalk downland, woodland and previously intensively managed land. As part of our team on the ‘Making Space for Nature in Dorset’ project, you’ll be together increasing wildlife abundance across 18 of our sites through a step change in restoration work. You’ll also be working with contractors, volunteers, trainees and members of the public as well as assisting with grazing animals and helping to monitor wildlife changes. This is a permanent post, of 35 hours per week Making Space for Nature in Dorset is funded by the Government's Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.
