We have an exciting opportunity for two Bar Team Leaders to join our fantastic Food & Beverage team here at Old Thorns Hotel. We are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality and will work well within our great bar team, providing guests with excellent service and delicious drinks. This role will mainly consist of preparing a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a high-volume environment, whilst managing a team of bar staff. We have two main bars, Atrium Cocktail bar to show off your mixology skills and our popular Sports Bar offering a more casual bar atmosphere, popular with our golfers and sporting guests.
Working as part of our Food and Beverage team, you will be expected to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills. You will need to be passionate and knowledgeable about drinks and be confident in providing guests with the correct drink choice. The role will give you the opportunity to learn and develop, with the potential to progress within the company. This is a hands on, operational role and will suit someone who likes working with friendly and hardworking people in a bar setting.
Depending on your experience we have Bar staff positions available as well.
Old Thorns is a four-star resort in Hampshire, with 143 bedrooms and 51 luxury apartments. The hotel is easily accessible from the A3, and only 30 minutes from Guikldford and Portsmouth. Old Thorns offers a wide range of accommodation, conference & function facilities, health club, beauty spa, restaurants & bars, a championship golf course.
As standard, you will work 40 hours per week on a flexible rota, where some weekends will be required.
Main Responsibilities:
- To welcome and serve our guests in a polite and friendly manner
- To ensure guests receive the highest possible standards of service at all times
- To follow cash handling procedures
- To ensure cleanliness of work areas is maintained
- To be fully aware of current liquor licensing laws and ensures that these are strictly adhered to
- To lead, motivate and train a team to be talented bar staff
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
- Smart personal presentation and polite and friendly manner
- Passionate about delivering the highest standards of customer care
- Excellent standards of spoken English
- Previous experience in a bar is desirable
