M&E Supervisor - Minor New Works

Mitie are recruiting for a Mechanical and/or Electrical biased Supervisor to join our minor new works team at our site based at RAF Lossiemouth delivering on our Future Defence Infrastructure Service (FDIS) contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for minor new works incl. the coordination and management of planned preventative maintenance, delivery of reactive and remedial works and supply chain management. This includes the management, organisation and prioritisation of work schedules to ensure contracted deliverables and key performance indicators are consistently achieved.

Hours of work will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.


Main Duties

Monitor Supply Chain work team to ensure suitably qualified and experienced operatives are directed to relevant tasks and ensure that all operatives have appropriate equipment and skills to perform relevant tasks.

To manage and deliver minor new works (M&E) program providing a scope of work, receiving and agreeing of the RAMS and monitoring progress to completion.

Upon completion of minor new works ensure review and handover of certification prior to handover to Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO).

Monitor Supply Chain service delivery, quality and safe working to ensure all performance KPI's indicators are consistently achieved.

To accurately record and maintain all information necessary to provide accurate reporting.

Resolving client, operational and commercial queries relating to contracted delivery.

To monitor, action and escalate incidents as appropriate to achieve agreed service levels and to keep customers informed of status and progress of resolution.

Requesting and updating quotations for corrective works, issuing purchase orders for materials and subcontract orders.

Administration of remedial work order submissions onto the client system and work flowing through to relevant departments.

Be aware of commercial requirements on contract and limit of scope.

Updating and responding to audits.

To develop and maintain a good understanding of the core MAXIMO application, the facilities management services provided to customers, and all relevant process and procedures.

Administration of immediate business critical remedial work order submissions and ownership through to completion.

To take action to keep up to date with changes to the contract and apply to the system.

To handle and actively resolve any customer issues according to the Customer Complaint process.

Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in.

Attend training and other meetings as required and to make specific training needs known to line management.

Ensure, as far as reasonably practical, that all our supply chain contractors working within RAF Lossiemouth and associated sites observe the requirements of JSP 375, work closely with the Mobile Authorised Persons team to ensure compliance.

Understand operational priorities of the Head of Establishment (HoE), develop and maintain close working and effective relationships with Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and end users to pro-actively support site activities and provide professional and technical advice as required.

Support the Helpdesk in responding to requests for professional and technical advice.


What we are looking for:

  • Able to influence and negotiate effective delivery within the remit of the (FDIS) Mitie contract.
  • Excellent administration skills.
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail.
  • Able to work on own initiative and manage own workload.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office suite especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organised and prepared to be flexible in their approach.
  • Familiar with different types of building engineering systems.
  • Specific experience in a particular FM and planned service.
  • Experience in the management of internal multi skilled service delivery teams.

Training and Qualifications

NVQ level qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Management level qualification in H&S and Environment (e.g. SMSTS).
