Job Title: Machine System Integration Engineering Specialist
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 ( Dependent Upon Experience)
Location : Peterborough, UK - 3 days in the office per week

Job Summary
Caterpillar’s IPSD group is looking for a technical expert to join the Customer Solutions team as a Machine System Integration Engineering Specialist. This exciting role will lead teams working with customers to specify and integrate Caterpillar’s progressive product lines, including battery systems and hybrids, by developing solutions that help our customers to grow profitably in a more sustainable way.
In this role you will get the opportunity to shape Caterpillar’s future 3rd party offering as we progress through the energy transition. This role requires an understanding of multiple powertrain components and in-depth knowledge of the multiple industry segments.
What You Will Do:
Develop customer projects utilising Advanced Powertrain & ePowertrain solutions, involving the development of new products and services to meet customer and business needs.
Utilise advanced technologies, products, and processes to define customer solutions.
Collaborate with a variety of internal and external customers including manufacturing managers, product managers, sales & account managers, development engineers and new product introduction (NPI) managers to make high level decisions impacting one or more products, processes, or facilities.
Develop and manage projects while communicating project development and progress to customers and/or business stakeholders.
Document and communicate application and market segment requirements to the product development teams.
Create solutions for complex technical engineering problems and be accountable for the design or improvement of complex systems aligning the solution to the overall product line strategy.
Understand customers’ needs, product applications and understanding cost drivers versus competitive products.
Keep up to date with technological advances while developing personal technical breadth and/or depth.
What You Have:
Degree Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience desired
Previous Experience
Extensive experience within product development
Knowledge of off-highway products would be highly advantageous
Familiarity with, and interest in advanced power components and vehicle architectures would be highly advantageous
Understanding of project management processes
