Position

£32,000.00 per annum

Full time, permanent

35 hours per week, Monday - Friday, plus on-call

Marshall Hall Estate, Mill Hill, London

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work as Maintenance and Compliance Operative at our Mill Hill estate. Reporting to the Estate Manager, you will become an important member of the estate team ensuring that excellent standards of maintenance, repairs, compliance and property management are carried out in an efficient and timely manner.

This is an extremely varied role and you will be expected to be able to carry out basic tasks from plumbing, joinery and painting as well as other general maintenance requirements around the estate.

You would be responsible for ensuring that legislative compliance tasks are undertaken and recorded, dealing with any issues directly or notifying your line manager.

There will also be a requirement to ensure that contractors remain health and safety compliant whilst working on the estate.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, we require someone who has a calm personality, with the ability to prioritise a complex workload. The estate houses a number of elderly residents so an empathetic and patient nature is key.

Other key requirements include:

  • Maintenance experience in a similar role, ideally in a housing setting
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety and compliance within the housing industry
  • Trade qualification
  • Basic IT skills required, and must be competent using technology as smart phone/tablet will be part of your equipment
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines
  • Flexibility in hours and willingness to take part in the on-call rota.
