Abbotsford Care has an exciting opportunity for a part time Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance Team working 21 hours per week. The hours of work will be Monday - Wednesday, 9 am - 4.30 pm. You will be provided with use of a company vehicle during your working hours.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working across various aspects of the general maintenance of our gardens and care homes and ideally will have basic skills in the following areas:
- electrical skills (changing a socket / switch / light fitting)
- joinery skills (repairs to doors, windows and fixing door fittings)
- plumbing skills (changing a tap insert / unblocking toilets / changing cistern fill valves and syphons)
- painting and decorating
The successful candidate will be accountable to our Facilities Coordinator and must be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
Though within this post you will not have direct responsibility for resident care, as a care home company it is important that you have a warm and friendly personality as you will have regular contact with our residents.
To succeed in this role you will need to have a can do attitude, be hard working and be able to complete all work to a good standard and finish. You will also need to be a good team player .
