Your new roleYou will be the driving force that is responsible for the maintenance and repairs on all electrical installations, IE lighting, building services and any mechanical services as appropriate.You will need to demonstrate the ability to fulfil total versatility and flexibility, servicing, testing fault diagnosis, repairing, installing all types of electrical installs and, where appropriate, mechanical services equipment.Examples of these types of equipment include:Heating and boiler plant controls BMS, air conditioning/ ventilation systems etc and alarm systems.You will be required to work a weekend rota and be available to undertake call-out duties.What you'll need to succeed
- City and guilds Advances Craft in Electrical Installation or NVQ Level 2/3 Electrical Installations (Essential)
- PAT Testing (Desirable)
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety (Essential)
- Experience in fault-finding and working on commercial heating plants, system controls, emergency lighting, in/external lighting, domestic appliances, single and 3 phase power circuits, installation of temp supplies to exhibitions, electrical installation and testing.
The role requires you to have the ability and willingness to respond quickly to requests for work in emergencies, whilst demonstrating to be able to work as part of a team or alone, incorporating the use of new technologies. Your ability to manage and prioritise your workload will be a key skill whilst being able to meet deadlines and showing a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in your everyday role. The role will include, but not exhaustive, the following duties:
- Emergency light testing and repairs resulting from that testing repair and maintenance to internal and external lighting installations
- Domestic cooker repairs single phase power circuit fault-finding
- Maintenance and fault-finding and three-phase heating and ventilation with inverter drives
- Installation of temporary single and three-phase supplies for exhibitions and student events
- Repairs and maintenance in a modern boiler house Basic fault-finding on modern fire alarm systems.
- Conducting minor work on installations
