Role - Maintenance Engineer (Food Manufacturing)
Salary - £42,000-£45,000

Russell Taylor group has a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer within the Food Manufacturing/ FMCG industry to join our clients well established business. Our client is looking for someone with previous experience working with food manufacturing, as well as City & Guilds level 3 Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent. They are also looking for a confident Maintenance Engineer who is able to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions.

Role in Principal
• To ensure that all manufacturing plants, equipment, and facilities are kept in optimal working condition. This includes enhancing equipment reliability by increasing the average time between failures (MTBF) and decreasing the average time to repair (MTTR).
Responsibilities
• Perform repairs on all types of plant and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
• Assist in developing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
• Execute PPM schedules and planned work orders as required.
• Provide assistance to visiting specialist engineers when necessary.
• Report root causes of breakdowns, equipment faults, and concerns to the line manager.
• Troubleshoot to resolve minor repair issues.
• Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) fully.
• Plan and prioritize workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
• Contribute to achieving the daily production plan.
• Accurately and promptly complete job tickets/CMMS upon work completion.
• Respond to maintenance requests for equipment faults, diagnose the issue, repair, and return equipment to operational status, ensuring all work is conducted safely and efficiently through dynamic risk assessments.
• Identify spare parts requirements, log usage, and aid in inventory control.
• Assist in moving, installing, and repositioning machines and equipment.
The Person
• Minimum of City and Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or in a similar role within the food industry.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and Fanuc control systems.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex issues.
• Strong attention to detail and effective task prioritisation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
