Quattro Resourcing have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time mechanical Maintenance Engineer based in Luton, Bedfordshire.
Position: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Full-time (08:00 to 17:00)
Weekends, Bank Holidays & Overtime: N/A

Purpose of the Job;
The main objective of the role is to ensure that all equipment, machinery and electrical components are well maintained and serviced.
Responsibilities;
Responsible for the mechanical maintenance of all capital plant, equipment and site facilities. The role is also responsible for mechanical breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance ensuring maximum uptime. As well as this take a key role in maintaining Health and Safety records are kept up to date, annual checks are out effectively and risk assessments are followed.
- Investigate all electrical plant and machinery breakdowns, and mechanical plant and machinery breakdowns where necessary/as required, determine root cause and carry out necessary repair work inclusive of obtaining spare parts as necessary.
- Investigate failures in services, determine root cause and carry out necessary repair work inclusive of obtaining spare parts as necessary.
- Ensure all plant/machinery records are kept up to date.
- Ensure all engineering measures are carried out and recorded.
- Plan and deliver training to operatives on how to perform general maintenance work on various machines.
- Competently read and use electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to diagnose faults.
- Maintain all plant and equipment through planned/preventative maintenance schedules.
- Install new plant and equipment ensuring compliance to the latest regulations.
- Requests the services of contractors or suppliers in the event of an emergency.
- Ensure good housekeeping at all times and strict adherence to health and safety practices/procedures maintaining a safe working environment.
- Take an active role in identifying, developing and implementing process improvements.
- Involvement in projects and contributing to the improvement of production processes, competencies and systems.
Desirable Experience;
The ideal candidate will be a good organiser and analytical/creative problem solver, possess good communication skills being able to communicate at all levels. You will possess a good understanding of production plant/equipment and be willing to learn any new equipment that is brought into the production area or developed on the production unit. You will be self-motivated, able to work on your own initiative, unsupervised, and within a team, and, be customer focused toward service and quality. Due to the nature of the role you will also be flexible, reliable and possess good time-keeping.
