As a Maintenance Engineer, you are required to work as part of a facilities engineering team to support electrical maintenance in all of our properties, undertaking both reactive and planned works.
You will have experience working in a large complex facilities engineering environment, preferably with experience of data centre engineering services and critical systems.
A hands on approach to all electrical system maintenance, testing and installation of equipment such as low voltage distribution systems, switchgear, generators, transfer switches and UPS.
You will be experienced with the supervision of contractor site works, including health & safety requirements and implementing a safe system of work. Familiarity with CAFM systems would be advantageous.
Successful candidates will be required to undertake shift working and to support the department’s on-call rota. This would include responding to equipment issues, therefore, application of good fault finding and communication skills are essential.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Working knowledge of fire systems, fire suppression, CCTV, security systems and lighting controls.
- Electrical installation or maintenance qualification such as City & Guilds 2330, BTEC National Certificate or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- City & Guilds - Testing and Inspection of Electrical Installations (2391-52).
- Additional building services training in TREND, dali lighting, emergency lighting, EV charging, fire systems etc.
- Low or high voltage authorised person
- City & Guilds - 2396-10 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations or Higher National Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
- Thermal Imaging (ITC Level 1) or equivalent.

- Providing technical advice and support for all electrical systems.
- Operating a safe system of work.
- Carrying out fixed wire and portable appliance testing.
- Installing new electrical systems and equipment.
- Supporting the Engineering Manager with the development of engineering practices and process.
