Maintenance Engineer Manager

A position has arisen for a Permanent Maintenance Engineer Manager within an established public sector organisation. This role provides responsibility for managing the maintenance and engineering function including both internal and external contractors and related budgets.

Your duties will include:

• Leading and ensuring a robust and compliant planned and reactive maintenance function
• Ensuring effective, timely management of all 'Hard FM' helpdesks and good helpdesk response performance in line with agreed service levels
• Ensuring a compliant approach to the selection and appointment of contractors in line with the procurement regulations
• Managing all revenue and Capital project-based engineering and maintenance budgets effectively whilst ensuring compliance and Health and Safety
• Contribute to strategic and 5-year infrastructure planning, cyclical replacement and Planned Preventative Maintenance planning, procurement and delivery
• Ensuring appropriate PPM regimes (SFG20 or similar/equivalent) are developed, maintained, adhered to and suitably recorded on the Estates CAFM system
• Acting as Deputy Responsible Person or equivalent for compliance matters (e.g. L8)
• Providing technical input into E&F projects particularly at scoping and design stages

The successful candidate should have:

• Must have a relevant degree/engineering qualification and estate engineering experience
• Experience of managing in-house and contracted engineering and maintenance teams
