Description
* Take a hands on approach to the maintenance remit and lead from the front to help drive improvement projects and the team forward
* Responsible for supporting the supervision, formulation, administration and coordination of engineering projects, methods and procedures designed to improve operating performance, reduce delays/downtimes and otherwise promote cost reductions
* Support, encourage and develop the team, taking ownership for team cohesion and proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere
* Maintain and develop skills levels in order to keep pace with the demands of the business.
* Schedule both internal and external work, optimising planned down time and reducing unplanned downtime
* Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements are undertaken.
* Develop and implement process improvements
* Liaise and communicate with other departments, suppliers and service providers to optimise the output of both the mill and the engineering department
* Plan and execute a proactive maintenance regime
* Requirement for hands-on analysis and problem solving

* Lead and Develop Group Engineering Projects
* Ensure that all work is done in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff, contractors and visitors

Skills:
* Happy to take a hands-on approach to the maintenance remit
* Proven track record of Maintenance Management, having held a supervisory position within a
manufacturing environment
* Excellent planning and organisation skills
* Flexibility to respond to a variety of work situations
* Ability to effectively manage the tasks of the Maintenance team and ensure an efficient
and effective service is provided to the site.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* A positive, 'can do' attitude and the ability to work effectively under pressure
* Competent in the use of email, computerised systems, and administration requirements of a
busy department
* Being self-motivated and focused
* Being technical and analytical
Essential:
* Higher education in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent recognised
engineering apprenticeship
* Knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering Technology
* Supervisory Experience
* Project Management Skills
* Must be competent to provide engineering Maintenance Leadership and support the site
maintenance team
* Good knowledge of statutory compliance obligations and Approved Codes of Practice for and
not limited to:
o ATEX & DSEAR
o PSSR
o PUWER
o LOLER
Desired:
* Bachelor's degree in the engineering field
* Experience within a manufacturing environment within bulk manufacturing i.e. elevators, conveyors, electrical motors etc.
* Steam Systems and boiler experience (BOMSA)
* Project Management Qualifications
* History of improving team performance
