Maintenance Manager

At InterContinental Edinburgh The George Hotel, we have an exciting opening to join our team as a Maintenance Manager…

We are looking for someone who can commit to Full-Time, across 5 shifts per week. This role is typically scheduled Monday to Friday, however weekend and night cover will be required as and when the business requires. Being flexible would be a great plus!

We are open 7 days a week 365 days a year and need people to work a range of shifts and days - this means we can offer great flexibility if required. We are paying up to £37,000.00 per annum, all overtime is paid for. This role will report directly into our cluster Director of Facilities and Engineering.

As a Maintenance Manager your main duties and responsibilities will be coaching and mentoring our maintenance team, implementing training and ensuring standards are being met. You will support the Director of Facilities to handle expenses and forecasting, identify areas of improvement within preventative maintenance and continuously monitoring the building infrastructure. Our Maintenance Manager will work on reactive maintenance (adhoc incidents ensuring the safety of the wider Hotel team and guests) whilst managing our on site contractors. Overall, you will ensure statutory compliance is being met and keep up to date with Health and Safety legislation to make sure we are meeting both legal standards and IHG specific policies.

• Experience as a Maintenance or Facilities Manager within a Hotel environment (essential), within an older building is preferred
• Excellent organisation skills, managing administrative responsibilities of the role whilst also being confident in IT systems (essential)
• Experience in all aspects of maintenance that may be expected within a Hotel such as painting and decorating, carpentry, French polishing, activities generally expected of a Maintenance Assistant
• Trained in and application of Preventative Maintenance
• Qualification in plumbing or electricity will be an advantage (IOSH qualified is highly desirable)
• Proven track record with success at coaching and training team members, demonstrating capability to lead a team
