Job Description
- Provide technical support to the Engineering & Manufacturing department
- Implement routine maintenance procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Assist in the development of maintenance strategies

The Successful Applicant
The Maintenance Support Technician is required to be an individual who is self-starting and self-motivated and is committed to the pursuit of objectives and business goals. They should also be able to demonstrate the belowEssential Skills & Experience Required
- Hold a recognised Electrical / Process Control apprenticeship (HNC/ONC level or equivalent)
- Previous Instrumentation / Control / Electrical experience of industrial systems
- A Demonstratable ability to learn new skills.
- Good level of problem-solving awareness.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and work with technical data.
- A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation with experience of adhering to SWP's, risk assessments, procedures, and permit systems.
- Previous use of a variety of computerised maintenance management systems and other computerised tools which are regularly used in a busy Engineering function.
Desirable Knowledge & Experience
- Experience of furnace combustion systems, air / gas ratio control, PID control for burner systems and thermocouples. A good working knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation relating to combustion systems would also be advantageous.
- Experience of a wide range of measurement and instrumentation methods and equipment.
- Calibration of instrumentation to recognised standards such as NADCAP AMS2750, AS9100.
- Experience of electronics including fault finding and repair to component level.
- Experience of PC based systems and their associated communications.
- Experience of CCTV and audio communications systems.
- A knowledge of PLC and SCADA based systems predominantly related to fault finding would be advantageous.
- Experience of written reporting for detailing activities, plant maintenance and reliability.
- Experience of planning of work schedules and reporting of daily / weekly jobs.
- Competence in the latest I.E.T. Wiring Regulations.
- Experience of working in confined spaces and at heights would be advantageous.
- Experience of environmental monitoring equipment and ISO 14001 standards.
- Experience of Quality Management Systems e.g ISO9001
