Candour Talent Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our well-established client based in the Blackwood area.

Job Description:

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of testing equipment and machinery with an electrical bias. You will also assist with buildings and facilities maintenance supporting the Senior Facilities Technician and the Facilities Operations Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Ensuring all testing equipment and machinery runs reliably by conducting preventative and reactive maintenance with an electrical bias.
  • Ensuring safe working practices are always maintained in line with procedures and UK legislation.
  • Co-ordinating routine servicing schedules with the labs management and contractor services.
  • Monitoring contractors work to ensure quality and safety at all times.
  • Carrying out compulsory legislative inspections and checks.
  • Taking ownership of procedures and ensuring tasks are completed on time and to budgets.
  • Keeping Supervisors and Managers updated on progress of tasks/jobs.
  • Assisting with the design and build processes of new Rigs, including liaising with external engineering contractors where required.
  • Identifying and suggesting solutions for problems that may occur and analyzing trends.
  • Use of various IT software systems, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Maintain competency and experience by undertaking training courses suitable to task requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records by updating computer maintenance management systems.
  • Improving overall equipment performance by generating/implementing ideas and modifications.
  • Assisting and cooperating with other team members in the Facility.
  • Carrying out and supporting all HSSE procedures and Risk Assessments where required, including own area of responsibility.
  • With the Senior Facilities Technician, able to own and be responsible for building and running a safe Workshop and Maintenance stores with the help of the Facilities Operations Manager.
  • Assist in the change of culture, with regards to maintenance and facilities.

Experience:

  • Fault finding and maintaining production/automation equipment.
  • Electrical maintenance essential.
  • PLC's interrogation and programming, Servo's and Drives preferred.
  • Health & Safety in the workplace.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Good Mechanical maintenance skills with Electrical Bias.
  • Communication skills
  • The ability to work safely and responsibly, both independently and with others
  • The ability to manage a varied workload
  • Demonstrate a positive and committed attitude
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement
  • Competent IT skills, to include familiarity Microsoft office and other software packages

Education & Certification Qualifications:

  • Relevant Maintenance or Engineering qualification
  • ONC / HNC in an Electrical Engineering Discipline
  • Time served apprentices of 4+ years preferred
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy
