About the job
As a Maintenance Technician at N+P Group you will be responsible for delivering the Planned Maintenance (PM) schedules as defined by the site maintenance plans, working to a high standard and in a cost effective manner. Furthermore, you will be responsible for planning, organising and undertaking corrective and reactive work and be responsible for delivering improvement projects leading to increased plant reliability and cost reduction.
In sum, your most important tasks, activities and responsibilities are:
- Responsible for your own Health and Safety, for the Health and Safety of those directly responsible to you, your work colleagues and any others who may be affected by the operations under your responsibility or control. You must ensure that at all times the correct PPE is worn.
- To complete the Planned Maintenance inspections as defined by the site maintenance plans in a safe and effective manner
- Plan and deliver corrective and reactive work, ensuring that tools, parts and materials are available and production downtime is minimized whilst also upholding and exceeding standards of safety
- Ensure that all work areas are kept tidy by adopting a ‘clean as you go’ approach at all times
- Adhere to stock control measures and maintain shift paperwork to the highest standard, to complete condition reports and other documentation as defined by the maintenance strategy
- Responsible for delivering the Planned Maintenance (PM) schedules as defined by the site maintenance plans
- Accountable for planning, organizing and undertaking corrective and reactive work
- Undertake engineering project work and assist with new installations or refurbishments
Requirements
- Completed apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) in appropriate engineering discipline
- Ideally an 18th edition electrical qualification
- Experience working within a processing, manufacturing or similar environment
- Possession of HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Full driving licence
- Awareness of Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and their impacts
- Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft office systems
- Good understanding of a proactive maintenance strategy and condition monitoring
- Knowledge of CMMS systems, purpose and functionality
What we offer
- Hourly salary of £17.50. This will increase after 6months of probationary period to 18.00 per hour
- There will be Day and Nigh shift introduced. One week on Days then following week on nights.
- Days: From 7:00 am till 17:30pm, minus one hour for break what gives 9.5 paid hours.
- Nights: From 19:00pm – 5:30 am, minus one hour for break what gives 9.5 paid hours – 10% shift allowance apply when on nights.
- Any hours worked above 47.5 a week will be classified as overtime and paid 150% of basic.
