Maintenance Technician (Hv)

We're looking for a Maintenance Technician (HV) to join our Energy Infrastructure Services business based at our Winnington site.

Here's what you'll be doing

Our Winnington CHP Operations Team, part of EON UK's Industrial Generation, Operations and Maintenance (IGOM) section, are looking for a Maintenance Technician (HV) to support the Winnington CHP Plant delivering 24/7 Steam and Electricity to our customer TATA Chemicals Europe (TCE). Within this role you will be supporting the Maintenance Co-ordinator to understand and predict maintenance issues so that all plans accommodate suitable engineering resolutions.

You'll also be responsible for the following:

• Support the identification and implementation of improvements across all aspects, influencing plant performance.
• Determine the scheduling of maintenance activities to minimise contract labour requirements.
• Deliver maintenance of plant to meet and exceed business KPI’s.
• Deliver and support analysis of plant issues, providing expert technical advice to the Maintenance Coordinator to assist in the decision making process of plant issues.
• Contract/contractor management, ensuring appropriate safety assessments have been completed and performance is optimised.

What we need from you

• HNC/NVQ Level 4 or equivalent along with significant expertise in Electrical engineering principles, with expertise in a specialist skill area - HV Electrical or control systems
• An IOSH (Managing Safely) or equivalent qualification as a minimum, demonstrating a clear knowledge of safety practices and management.
• The ability to innovate and appropriately challenge existing processes to improve efficiency
• A willingness to develop the site by looking for best practise and ways to improve the plant operational and commercial performance.
• The capability and willingness to achieve E.ON’s required competency levels - Competent Person, Nominated Supervisor and Senior Authorised Person (where required) - is essential.
• Fork Lift Truck driving experience is desirable.
• Contract Management skills and experience to appropriately challenge contractors on the methods, quality and standards of work.
• Competent in hazard identification, risk assessment and management of risks.
• Excellent understanding of the commercial and financial effects of plant operation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A working knowledge of PC based computer systems and maintenance/information management systems.
• Planning and organisational skills to include effective task prioritisation and resource management.
• Ability to build professional relationships with our internal and external stakeholders.
• An understanding of operational practices and procedures and the ability to recognise and diagnose problems, by evaluating information and data to draw conclusions and make decisions.
