Major Works Programme Manager
Sutton, Surrey, Greater London - 4 days in the office per week
£550 - £600 per day Umbrella.
Contract (6 Months)
We are currently looking for an experienced public sector Major Works Programme Manager to join us who can manage the delivery of planned investment programmes and provide leadership to the team of Capital Works team.
The Role:
- Managing budgets exceeding £5m per annum.
- You'll effectively manage partnered JCT contractors and consultants, procuring additional works contracts and staff resources where necessary.
- Lead the planning and development of major infrastructure projects, including identifying project objectives, scope, budget, and time line.
- Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, allocating resources effectively to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and government agencies to secure necessary approvals and permits.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
- Manage project budgets and expenditures, tracking costs and ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
The Candidate:
- Knwoledge of NEC would be advantageous.
- CIOB qualification would be advantageous.
- Proven experience managing major infrastructure projects within the public sector, with a strong track record of successful delivery.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent leadership of large scale teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple capital work projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is desirable.
