Male Refuge Support Worker

Brook Street Social Care are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Male Refuge Support Worker to join an established team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to adult males who have been subject to trafficking and/or modern slavery. The position involves working 36 hours per week on a rota basis, including both days and nights.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety and well-being of male residents within the refuge.
Provide emotional support and assistance to individuals who have experienced trafficking and modern slavery.
Monitor and implement security measures to maintain a safe living environment.
Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to address the specific needs of residents.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with organisational policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience working with adults who have been victims of trafficking and modern slavery is desired.
Strong understanding of issues related to human trafficking and gender-based violence.
Relevant qualifications in social work, psychology, or a related field are desirable.
First Aid certification is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Sensitivity and empathy towards the needs of individuals who have experienced trauma.
