Finance Manager, Record-to-Report (People Leadership Role)

Location: London, UK

Position Overview

The RTR (Record-to-Report) Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company's financial records and reporting processes. This role involves managing a team, overseeing financial reporting, account reconciliation, compliance, and process improvements.

The role covers all Costa legal entities and operating units.

The role is supported by a team of Finance Analyst for which the role will act as line manager.

What You’ll Do for Us

Financial Transactions Recording:

  • Record daily financial transactions into the organization's accounting software or ERP system.
  • Ensure accurate coding of transactions and adherence to established accounting policies.

Month-End and Year-End Closing:

  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations for the areas of focus under your control.
  • Help ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and documented.

Account Reconciliation:

  • Supervise the reconciliation of key accounts, such as Accruals, Pre-Payments and other control items including areas as diverse as intercompany and tax.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and review financial reports as part of the close process with the aim of being able to review results, identify potential issues/errors and make appropriate judgements and changes to support the delivery of accurate results.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable regulations.

Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary updates to financial processes.

Internal Controls:

  • Follow established internal control procedures and contribute to the maintenance and improvement of internal control processes.
  • Help identify and mitigate financial risks.

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices and leverage financial software and tools.

Audit Support:

  • Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring the availability of necessary financial records and documentation.
  • Address audit findings and recommendations.

Communication Focus:

  • Communicate with various departments, including OU Finance teams, FP&A, Source to Pay, Order to Cash, legal, tax and wider Coca Cola Company teams.
  • Communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders.
  • Delivery of standard approaches to interaction and communication into the accounting services team.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW/Local Equivalent) or QBE.
  • 1-2 + PQE years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing, with a strong background in financial analysis and compliance. Previous experience in a finance manager role.
  • Line management experience and ability to set targets, monitor performance and provide feedback to team members.
  • Understanding of core accounting processes and standards to ensure general ledger management is compliant with local reporting requirements and tax compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
