We are working with a leading precision engineering company who due to continued growth are looking for a Manual Machinist to join their team.
As a successful Manual and CNC Machinist, will be working alongside a dedicated team of precision engineers and with extensive experience and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Managers for job orders to ensure work flow scheduling.
Work with route cards to ensure scheduling, labour time and job tasks are put on records.
Receiving and interpreting engineering drawings and sketches to manufacture engineering components and ensuring the finish product is made to specification.
Test and measure manufactured components.
Use gauges and measuring tools like vernier callipers and micrometres to meet tolerance requirements.
Work as a team to ensure quality and production targets are meet
Qualifications
Having served a recognised apprenticeship, BTEC, City & Guilds qualified in Manufacturing or similar ideally.
A time served machinist.
Experience using CNC machine programming on Siemens Sinumerik or Hurco Winmax.
Knowledgeable and experience of using manual Colchester lathe and Bridgeport NC Proto Trak milling machines.
Have an excellent attention to detail and can check her/his owned machined parts.
Be able to produce work to close tolerances
Be proficient with using a variety of hands-on tools and equipment.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience on high precision machining,
Ability to read, comprehend and apply technical drawings.
High-level problem-solving skills and the ability to work as part of a dynamic team
Have the ability to work to tight time scales without compromising quality and safety.
Must have current UK right to work to be considered for this opportunity.
