A well-established light manufacturer supplying major UK retailers is looking for a manager to oversee a production department with specific responsibility for health and safety, maintenance contracts, material forecasting and replenishment. This is a varied role reporting directly to the Managing Director and providing support throughout the factory.
As Department Head you will be responsible for:
- Leading, motivating and overseeing a team of production operatives to ensure schedules are met within required time frames and to set QC standards.
- Stock management, forecasting and re-ordering.
- Manage servicing and maintenance for all equipment.
- Supporting and training operatives and maintaining records.
- Driving standards and monitoring quality controls to reduce issues and delays.
- Health & safety and compliance responsibility.
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Experience within a light manufacturing environment ideally including the use of mitre saws, cross-cut saws and pinners.
- Health and safety experience or qualification.
- Highly organised with strong administration and communication skills.
- Interest in process improvement and increasing performance.
- Hardworking and motivated with a can-do attitude happy to lead by example.
This is a key role within the organisation, reporting directly to the Managing Director and you would play an important role in our continued growth and development.
