This client company is an engineering design, manufacturing and supply business that is looking to grow significantly over the next 5 years. The business works across a broad range of sectors with blue chip and well-known customers and has a solid pipeline for the foreseeable future.
The Requirement
Due to growth plans, success and the business strategy, the company is looking to recruit a full-time Engineering & Manufacturing Director.
Core Role & Responsibilities
The key role and responsibilities for this person will include:
- Strategic leadership of all engineering design/drawings projects and manufacturing contracts for the company
- Ensuring strong awareness of all engineering projects and manufacturing contracts, planning matters, deliveries, what’s happening in the workshop on a daily basis and “what’s next”
- Direct people management of engineering and manufacturing staff
- Being really proactive, updating Board colleagues on all engineering and manufacturing projects, forecasts, issues, resourcing requirements etc and leading on action where needed to ensure targets are it and customers are happy
- Promoting higher manufacturing and engineering standards, processes and procedural improvements, developing staff and enhancing the overall running of these business units
Experience & Fit
Suitable candidates will have the following backgrounds:
- Manufacturing Manager/Director leadership experience to date ideally within the fabrication/ductwork/steelwork/sheet metal industries or related fields
- Experience with mechanical orientated production businesses
- Recognised engineering and/or manufacturing qualifications
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Hands on, driven, energetic, professional and a team player
- A strong character, dynamic, strategic, gravitas, confident and aspirational when it comes to leadership opportunities within growing companies
