Manufacturing Engineer

Adept are proud to be working with a very reputable heavy engineering company who supply into the Aerospace and Nuclear Sectors and more. They are seeking knowledgeable Project Engineer to join their team.
Working hours - Monday -Friday. DAYS ONLY
Purpose
The main role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to ensure that new and existing products are transitioned from planning through to production readiness ensuring that all customer and business requirements are met. This will be achieved by ensuring the latest manufacturing techniques, technologies and processes are identified and employed to enable right first time manufacture.
Responsibilities
Participate in PFMEA sessions
Analyse processes for improvements and ensure timely implementation
Ensure the NPI process is followed throughout each project
Assist in the continuous improvement of the NPI process to drive business performance
New Product Introduction
Create, own and expedite project plans for individual product introductions
Technical liaison with customers to resolve issues as they arise
Liaise with other business functions to ensure all other activities are completed as per plan
Liaise with suppliers as required to identify optimum methods of manufacture and tooling
General Duties
CNC programming
Identification of improvement opportunities
Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects
Produce rework and salvage schemes as requiredAssist the Sales team with Enquiries and Quotation activity
Generate routings and bills of materials
Generate stage drawings and work instructions
Supporting machinists during initial program prove out
Conduct engineering elements of the contract review process as required
Tooling & Fixture design
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Time served knowledge in the field of complex machining
Minimum 2 years experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
Demonstrable experience of milling and turning including 5 axis milling
Demonstrable experience of new product introduction
Strong CAD/CAM knowledge in modelling and programming
A working knowledge of ERP systems relating to planning and engineering processes
Knowledge of Industry Standard quality requirements, AS9100, ISO9001
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Demonstrable experience of 5 axis machining and mill/turn machining centres
Experience of working with large, complex components
A working knowledge of Siemens NX CAD/CAMHNC or Degree level educated in a related engineering discipline
Minimum 5 years experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques
Knowledge of working with a structured NPI process
Salary is negotiable dependent on experience.
