Role Location: Sheffield - office based
Role Overview
Provide detailed support to Production on Manufacturing Engineering related matters, working to document, improve and streamline existing production processes through SolidWorks, utilising Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma tools.
The overall aim is to achieve a smooth and efficient assembly process through utilising data, assuring products are built correctly and exceeding production targets.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and revising Bills of Materials (BOAS) and drawings through SolidWorks.
- Working on special projects, equipment justification, Redesign/New design and efficiency improvements
- Performance analysis to determine manpower, costings, develop designs and provide recommendations for structures, systems and components
- Support lean initiatives, focusing on process design, modifications, existing procedures and overall workflow
- Research sources and document proposals for new equipment and and manufacturing methods
- Conduct safety and investigation inspections plus JSA's for new processes
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience within Production, Process, Design or Manufacturing Engineering
- Experience of SolidWorks Electrical and Chartership would be advantageous.
- Cerifications in LEAN or Six Sigma.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Mechanical or Electrical engineering related degree or equivalent
- Desire to learn and improve
- Previous Engineering experience within Manufacturing or Engineering industries
- Willingness to travel for the occasional site visit (When required)
