We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Manufacturing Lifting Specialist to be involved in an industry leading, cutting-edge project for a new type of power station.

The successful Manufacturing EngineerLifting Specialist will principally be responsible for developing and implementing new manufacturing methods for the RR SMR modules factory but will also have specialist experience in the lifting and handling of large and heavy products. Methods in this context will cover all processes needed for the manufacture and assembly of modules within the RR SMR modules factory, as well as those needed for onsite manufacture of the power station and specialist support to the supply chain. The successful candidate will also be accountable for the application of safe lifting and handling activities across these facilities and will provide specialist advice to the rest of the SMR business.

Key Selection Criteria
• Practical hands-on experience (3+ years) in the development and approval of lifting plans for large and heavy products (>50T) including the selection of equipment, the completion of supporting calculations, conducting risk assessments and knowledge of legislation for lifting equipment (e.g. LOLER)
• Competent in the creation of manufacturing methods with an understanding of manufacturing processes related to the fabrication, welding and inspection of pressure equipment and other generic manufacturing processes
• Competent in the application of build in quality tools e.g. PFMEA s as part of the development of manufacturing methods
• Proven ability to define, plan, monitor and control projects, programmes and work packages, ensuring the work is delivered to cost, quality and schedule. As well as communicating complex technical information in a simple and effective way, whilst creating methods of manufacture ensuring delivery of manufacturing capability and business requirements and meeting design intent
• Ability to work across various teams internally at all levels as well as with suppliers and customers. A strong questioning attitude with an ability to influence others and stand alone where required
Pay and Benefits
• We anticipate of paying a salary of between £45,000 & £65,000
• Bonus - Performance related bonus of up to 12.5%
• Benefits Allowance £2,200 enabling you to create a bespoke package
• Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions
• Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days
• Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
• Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay • £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
