Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead in Special Equipment to join A Global abatement solution manufacturer in Clevedon. Working with like-minded engineers based at our centre of excellence just south of Bristol.Reporting to the Manufacturing Systems Manager, you will lead, within the Manufacturing Engineering function, the Special Equipment Manufacturing Engineers in delivering manufacturing solutions for products and platforms across our multiple business types.Key Responsibilities;Responsible for the daily management and the performance of the specially designed equipment Manufacturing Engineering Team.Drive collaborative working with other support departments (Operations, Quality, MI etc) to resolve issues impacting the manufacturing process.Lead major change projects that support goals through improvement strategies, implementing a range of improvement methodologies.Keen focus on budgetary adherence, performance and driving out recurrent waste.Being key driving force in implementation of lean initiatives within the business with emphasis on development of production processes using lean tools such as value steam mapping, 5s etcProvide leadership across the team and display the appropriate behaviours.Line management responsibilitiesInfluence internal stakeholders. Command the respect of very technical staff.Lead investigations and the ability to relay information to all levels in the business.Interpret drawings to provide dimensional inspection or manufacturing requirements and informed selection of techniques of measurement.Lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers to ensure an efficient production process through evolving and introducing the most suitable manufacturing processes for products that deliver safe, high quality, repeatable, cost-effective solutions with agreed, calculated time outputs.Ensure Manufacturing Engineering specifications, processes & best practices are implemented throughout ME documentation.What you must have to apply and be considered;Experienced in leading teams of people (essential)Previous experience in setting and achieving manufacturing business plans, KPIs and outputs (essential)A broad knowledge in manufacturing techniques, process variables and control (essential)Use skills matrix's to develop personal and team development plansExperienced in the use of lean methodologies and tools including 6S, std work, SIM, change management, TPM, kaizen, VSM, SIPOC, PFMEA.Understand in ERP systems.Audit awareness, able to represent Manufacturing Engineering function during internal and external audits.Experienced in change management, project management and leading improvement teams, with a track record of implementing planned business benefits (essential)Good understanding of Manufacturing Engineering processes and techniques (essential)Salary is 50-55K and 25 days holiday (plus BHs) based near Bristol(can discuss hybrid to suit)
