Job Role: Manufacture Engineer (Turning)
Location: Yeovil
Salary: TBC
Full Time: Monday to Thursday 7.00am until 3.30pm and Fridays 7.00am until 12.00pm
Work offline away from production, engineering new and current parts for production, working as part of the engineering/planning department to ensure & maintain the high standards expected of FGP with quality on time deliveries' role will include:
- Utilising the current CAM system to produce part programs for manufacture - Mastercam 2024
- Team communication - workload /projects
- 2D/3D drafting (Catia/Mastercam)
- Write technical Manufacturing Instructions (set up sheets)
- Allocate set and run times to method
- Advise purchasing department of tooling required
- Estimate run times by making the necessary calculations based on material and cutting data (RFQ) sales feed back
- Report writing
- Update machine tool paths to ensure the best practice
- Make process amendments when necessary
- Contact customers with any drawing queries
Skills and experience required:
- CAM - Turning (Turn/Mill)
- Design manufacturing fixtures and produce fixtures
- Prove out and setting on production machines (Turn/Mill)
- Have experience in all types of machining techniques ranging from manual to CNC machining
- Ability to combine good business acumen with effective management skills
- Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to thrive within a fast-paced manufacturing business environment
