Job description

Job title: Marketing Assistant

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Fridays, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (Hybrid-working)

Salary: £24,000

Reporting to: Marketing Manager

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to join our growing marketing team. As a Marketing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our marketing initiatives and contributing to the success of our brand.

The role is based at our headquarters in North Cornwall, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Our new factory and offices, designed to be in harmony with our rural setting, are surrounded by nature and close to some of Cornwall’s most beautiful beaches. Lunchtime walks through country lanes and post-work sea swims/surfing are all possible.

The role will require some travel to attend tradeshows.

Responsibilities:

Marketing & Communications

  • Research and contribute to content generation in line with the content strategy across several formats both on and offline including print as well as digital.
  • Support the creation of e-marketing as and when required.
  • Keep the email B2B database updated weekly to ensure effective communication from the company.
  • Review and reply to interactions and engagements across delegated social media channels where appropriate.
  • Support in the regular and effective use of social media, when required and in line with the marketing plan, including responding to interactions and engagement across social channels where appropriate.
  • Support the Marketing Manager with the coordination of photoshoots and maintain the Media Library.
  • Assist with the day-to-day marketing campaign activities including website updates and mobile app updates, as required.
  • Keep up to date with marketing developments, trends and opportunities for the business.
  • Keep abreast of competitors and their activities.
  • Maintain good data management processes and support the Marketing Manager to ensure these are kept up to date
  • Maintain effective customer communications across Feefo, with Marketing Assistant support, and escalate queries to the appropriate supervisor or peer.
  • Represent St. Eval at PR, networking and charity events.

Sales

  • Handling enquiries ranging from order status, general product information, technical issues and pricing.
  • Handling customer escalations in a professional manner and transferring them to the appropriate supervisor or peer.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and communicating them to your manager.
  • Support exhibition planning and attending exhibitions when required, which will mean time away from the office and some weekend work (provided as TOIL)
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and customer relationship building and communicate these to your manager.
  • Learn about the St. Eval brand and help to promote its strengths.

Creative

  • Support the creation of blog posts for the website and in line with the content strategy, for review by the Marketing Manager.
  • Help write photography and create briefs where appropriate
  • Provide creative input and ideas generation for the development of marketing campaigns.

Administration

  • Support the planning and organisation of marketing activities.
  • Support the marketing team with administrative activities.
  • Support the market research process when required.
  • Learn about the organisation’s products or services and keeping up to date with changes.
  • To be able to work alone but also work within a small team
  • To work unsupervised while maintaining a professional working office environment.
  • To respect and uphold the organisation’s commercial confidentiality, and values, at all times
  • Such other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.

About you:

  • Education/ training in marketing or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a Marketing role – 2 years minimum.
  • Experience of working with Mailchimp
  • Experience with the e-commerce platform Shopify
  • Demonstratable experience delivering email marketing and organic social media posts.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Creative with excellent written skills and proof reading.
  • Innovative and growth-focused mindset.
  • Nice to have: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or similar.
