We are excited to be supporting the British Omani Society in recruiting their new Marketing Officer.
The Society is a charitable membership organisation working with the objective of enhancing and preserving the longstanding friendship between Britain and Oman.
Permanent Role
Hybrid Working (two days-office based and three days from home)
£28,000 - £31,000
As Marketing Officer you will work as part of a small friendly collaborative team, reporting directly to the Director. You will also work closely with the Board of Trustees and the Oman and British Embassies.
Overview of duties:
- Managing all marketing and communications for events and activities.
- Managing/planning social media content and calendar
- Building on existing marketing activities to expand membership and raise awareness of the offering to wider audiences.
- Website Management
- Posting content for monthly website blog, invite mailouts, event listings and the "Press Digest" e-newsletter.
- Design/creating digital flyers for social media in Canva.
- Promotion of student schemes to Oman (learning Arabic or volunteering)
- Building relationships with Universities, schools and Alumni networks.
- Management of the Annual Review magazine. (content writing/editing), coordinating production and distribution.
- Tracking & reporting on marketing performance incl. membership numbers, social media engagement, website analytics etc.
You will have the following skills and attributes:
- Proactive and self-starting.
- Confident and knowledgeable in full marketing mix, traditional through to digital.
- Ability to engage and build relationships with stakeholders.
- Editing and copywriting experience.
- Experience of basic website editing.
- Experience of basic photoshop, illustrator or Canva skills and/or video production.
- Strong attention to detail, especially in written communication.
- A growth mindset: keen to develop in the role, drive momentum and deliver new projects, programmes, and initiatives.
- Ability to multi-task a wide variety of projects
Please note marketeers with knowledge of the Gulf, Middle East, or Arab culture is a bonus!
