This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and inspiring Marketing Manager to come into a new role within a highly regarded organisation, working within a focused and motivated team.
The successful candidate will help to build the profile of the Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) across a diverse group of global stakeholders - Members, students, Supporters and other sponsors, press, and industry partners. In doing so s/he will champion the work of the IMW worldwide so that the Institute is better promoted, explained, and understood at every level.
You will support and influence our plans to increase awareness and drive income growth through supporter recruitment and retention, maximising engagement with and inspiring our supporters, as well as our membership and student body. You will develop external communications priorities and activities, capturing the essence of our strategic intent, and ensuring the ongoing strengthening of our visibility and reputation.
We are looking for an experienced, senior level marketeer with a strong track record in overseeing the development and delivery of effective and successful multi- channel marketing strategies targeted at a range of audiences.
The organisation:
The Institute of Masters of Wine is a membership organisation whose members are the Masters of Wine. The IMW’s mission is to promote excellence, interaction, and learning across all sectors of the global wine community.
MWs prove their understanding of all aspects of wine by passing the MW exam, recognised globally for its rigour and exacting standards. The MW exam involves a series of theory papers and blind tasting examinations, plus an individual research paper on a subject that will contribute to the understanding of the world of wine.
The IMW has 413 Members based in 31 countries, working as winemakers, viticulturists, importers, buyers, retailers, journalists, educators, sommeliers and senior executives. The Institute runs a study programme for over 350 students and events around the world, and conducts examinations in London, North America and Australia each year. It relies heavily on Members who volunteer to organise and carry out many of its activities.
The Institute Headquarters are in Vauxhall, London. It has a core staff of twelve, with additional staff located in North America and Australia.
