Start date: September 2024 Deadline: The closing date for applications is 23 February 2024 The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Oxford Brookes University is pleased to invite applications for the Sasakawa Masters by Research Studentship in Japanese studies, made possible through the generosity of The Nippon Foundation and the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.  Oxford Brookes University offers a broad range of expertise on Japanese culture and language, but we would be particularly interested in candidates researching ageing and care, precarious or marginalised groups, contemporary Buddhism and other religious practice, film, or popular culture. It is important that you and your referees comment on your skill in Japanese in the areas of reading, composition and speaking. Interviews may partly be conducted in conversational Japanese if relevant to your project. Candidates must have submitted an application for admission by the Studentship application deadline.
