Materials Engineer

This MaterialsEngineer position is working for a manufacturer in the Segensworth, Fareham. The company is around 180 employees strong and continuing their growth! The role is offering a Monday to Friday working week, 38 hours, with an early finish on a Friday. The role is paying up to £50,000 depending on experience.

In this role, you will provide technical support to Production & Quality for Material Review Board (MRB) decisions, including reviewing and evaluating non-conforming materials. Your responsibilities will also involve performing Engineering Contract Reviews for existing products, with a focus on materials and treatments, and analysing products to ensure the integrity of material specifications and performance standards are met. You will manage production support activities related to material shortages, alternative justifications to clients, and compliance with specifications. You will oversee obsolescence activities related to materials and treatments for legacy products, and establish and maintain the product verification matrix, which includes testing, reviewing, and reporting on material performance. Moreover, you will provide technical support internally and externally, and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders, including Sales Engineers/Account Managers, Customers, Manufacturing/Quality/Purchasing/Planning teams, and Subcontractors.

You will need:

• 5+ years of experience within mechanical engineering
• The ability to understand technical specifications and gain a working knowledge of existing company products
• Exceptional Problem Solving experience
• HNC Qualification or higher in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Excellent communication
