Math Analyst Intern
Bangor, North Wales
Office based.
Gaming Laboratories International UK are looking for candidates for our Intern programme starting in 2024. The hours will be dependent on your course and these are paid roles that provide you with the opportunity to work with our tools and processes. We have established an incomparable team of highly trained, hand-picked experts to deliver world-class services to the global gaming industry.
You will follow a structured programme and work alongside our Math Analysts to learn the correct operation and function of various electronic gaming devices. You will be assigned a mentor to guide and support you during your time with us and there will be the possibility of working with us during holiday periods and also the potential for you to join us permanently following graduation.
The Engineering division at Gaming Laboratories International ensures quality measures to test software designs that impact the products and services in the Gaming and Lottery industries. As an intern you will use test scripts to identify potential problems and defects, optimising product quality. This position utilises technical expertise and judgment to maintain high standards and increase efficiency in an evolving industry.
Responsibilities
Reviewing, understanding, and documenting source code written in various languages.
Conducting and interpreting statistical testing on game simulation results and on RNG data.
Carefully reviewing analysis work conducted by others for accuracy.
Parsing or reorganizing data files into standard formats for testing.
Documenting and communicating test results.
Utilises various internal tools for project tracking and management
Other duties as required.
Skills and Requirements
Studying Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline
Intermediate knowledge of Probability, Statistics, and Combinatorics is required.
Knowledge of C++, Java or other programming language is desirable.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be able to read, write and speak English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
Must have the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, with internal and external parties.
Must have an understanding of core programming concepts and techniques
Have a high degree of attention to detail.
You must be able to pass a background check.
