Job Title: English and Maths Teacher
DBS Level: Enhanced (both adult and child) with Barred
Service Users: Post-16, mainly 16-18/19-year-olds
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 0830-1630
Main Duties of the Role:
To plan and deliver Maths and English lessons from Functional Skills level 1 & 2 to GCSE English and Maths.

What Will I Be Doing as an English and Maths Teacher?
The purpose of the role is to oversee the day-to-day delivery of Maths and English qualifications from Level 1 Functional Skills to GCSEs. The post holder will engage and develop students' Maths and English functional skills/GCSEs as well as support the personal and social development of our learners.
Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Design, plan, and deliver the English and/or Maths curriculum in line with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF), awarding body standards, and Nacro curriculum guidance and quality standards.
• Implement the Nacro English/Maths strategy aims to ensure the needs of Nacro Learners are met.
• Carry out an initial assessment of the potential or actual student, including any risks or his/her needs and requirements in respect of the service on offer.
• Actively engage with students in decisions that affect them, through involvement activities ranging from providing information, requesting feedback, consulting, to facilitating participation by the student.

Requirements for This Role:

• GCSE English & Maths is essential.
• A Teaching qualification, CET/PTTLS OR DET equivalent or above is preferred.
• An Enhanced with Barred Lists DBS check is essential.
