Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of our client based in Aberdeen for HGV Mechanics to start immediately on a temporary contract for an initial 12 weeks. This is a full-time position offering both early and late shift patterns as outlined below:
Early week: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 14:00pm and Friday 6:00am - 13:30pm
Late week: Monday - Thursday 14:00pm -22:00pm and Friday 11:30am - 19:00pm
Candidates must be prepared to join the out of hours on-call breakdown rota and work outside in all weathers.
Main Duties:
- Responsible for inspection, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, plant and equipment within the organisation's Fleet workshops and depots
- Have the ability to work on their own initiative and to communicate effectively with Management team and customers
- Carry out duties in compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures
- Operate Council equipment to the required standard and report any defects to their supervisor
- Complete Digital paperwork as required
- City and Guilds Heavy vehicle service and maintenance (9302) or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Preferably Hold a Category C (HGV) Licence and relevant CPC or to be obtained
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers
