Mechanical Analysis Engineer Bolton Up to £38,000
Progressive Engineering and an Engineering Leader in Heavy Engineered Systems for Regulated Industries are looking to recruit a Mechanical Analysis Engineer for their Bolton Site, owing to succession planning and project workload for 2024-2026+.
Based in Bolton and reporting into the Mechanical Design Manager, the Mechanical Analysis Engineerwill be working in conjunction with the Mechanical Design Team to substantiate, validate & feedback on the mechanical design of Heavy Engineered Static Structures (Sheet Metal, Sheet Steel, Welded Structures & Machinery)_
In addition, the Mechanical Analysis Engineer will be responsible for:
- Produce hand calculations and FEA analysis in-line with project requirements e.g., mechanical, structural, thermal, fatigue, acoustic, shock and blast.
- Responsible for self-checking calculations prior to release to Engineering Department checker(s)
- Correct use of calculation standards on all projects to deliver theoretical assurance.
- Support continuous improvement initiative
Qualification & Experience Required for Mechanical Analysis Engineer role:
- HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering etc)
- Experience of using FEA / Finite Element Analysis Software
- Prior experience of using hand calculations to validate designs (including Mechanical, Structural, Thermal, Fatigue, Shock & Blast)
- Ability to program templates using iLogic/ Visual Basic is desirable.
- Generation of hand and software-based calculations.
- Understanding of steel plate manufacturing principals and constraints, including laser cutting, weld limitations and press machinery.
- Ability to write reports and specifications.
For the successful Mechanical Analysis Engineer, a salary of Up to £38,000 + Package (including Pension, 25 days holiday, Company Sickness Scheme, Life Assurance & Medicash Scheme) is on offer and this Mechanical Analysis Engineerrole is commutable from Bolton, Preston, Manchester, Wigan, Leigh, Bury, Blackburn, Chorley, Darwen, Ramsbottom, Atherton, Standish, Prestwich, Farnworth, Middleton, Heywood, Horwich & Westhoughton, Rawtenstall and Bamber Bridge.
In addition, this client also works a condensed working week Monday to Thursday.
