We are supporting an innovative, green technology, business in their search for a Mechanical Technician to join their expanding team. This is an outstanding opportunity to showcase your Mechanical Build skills and receive extensive further training and development. This organisation is growing at pace and serving an international customer base with their unique technologies. As Mechanical Technician you will be tasked with supporting the R&D team to build prototypes, contributing to DFM and process engineering.
Core duties include:
• Building small batch prototype assemblies, fixtures and tooling.
• Perform mechanical tear down, route cause investigation and failure analysis.
• Support design for assembly and design for manufacture activities.
• Review and technically advise engineers on design feasibility for in house machining and provide proposals for design changes where required
• Ensuring equipment used is maintained by completing preventive maintenance requirements
• Checking and completing first article inspections on internal and external designs, providing technical reports accordingly
• Maintain continuity within the engineering department by documenting and communicating actions, work packages and resource requirements.
• Assembly of components whilst adhering to engineering drawings and relevant standards
This will be a varied and challenging role that will develop the successful applicant's engineering career. ideally candidates will hold relevant engineering qualifications and be open to occasional travel to support business needs.
