Job title: Mechanical Craft Operator

Job Type: Contract

IR35 Status: Inside

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 12-month contract

Pay rate: PAYE: £20- £26 an hour based on role shift pattern

Location: Preston

Hours of work: Depending on role shift pattern/ On site Position

Applicants must have experience of the following:

- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

- NVQ Level 3 in a Mechanical Engineering discipline

- Manual handling and operating auto and semi auto machines

- There is a high level of inspection and working to strict operating instructions

- Experience working to regulations and / or strict operating procedures.

- Recognised craft engineering apprenticeship in appropriate trade.

- 4 GCSE's (grade C or above) in Maths, English, Science and one other subject or equivalent qualification.


Role information:



There are positions for mechanical shift Craft Operators within the Fuel manufacturing operations department.

Candidates may be required to perform a selection of tasks including but not limited to: setup, maintenance, repairs and operation of automated production lines including, process monitoring, detailed inspection operations, manual handling Candidates are expected to be prepared to undertake all roles within their allocated operational area, and actively participate in improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost.

Experience working in quality and safety critical environments are preferred, good attention to detail, questioning attitude and safe working practices are a must. Uphold high housekeeping standards.

Applicants may be required to work days or one of a number of shift patterns. Additionally candidates will be expected to be flexible across a number of roles and operational areas as required.


Deliverables


• Provision of engineering skills to internal/external customers to agreed standards.

• Contribute to maintenance of production/project programmes.

• Contribute to the improvement of a safe environment/general housekeeping of the working area, particularly in their own area of responsibility.

• Active involvement in improvement projects/initiatives.

• Maintain awareness of the developments in own trade and apply to workplace where appropriate.

• Where appropriate, assist in the training and development of others to appropriate standards.

• Complies with all legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures e.g. safety, quality, risk, security etc. applicable to the role.


Indicators of performance


• Completion of tasks to relevant standards.

• Demonstrate maintenance of production/project programmes.

• Adheres to housekeeping/safety standards appropriate to the role.

• Demonstrates evidence/involvement of improvements to maintenance and of production/project performance.

• Demonstrates knowledge of current standards.

• Demonstration of improvements in training of others.

• Adheres to all legislative, regulatory and company procedures and standards e.g. safety, quality, risk, security etc. appropriate to the role.
