Job Title:Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Leicestershire

Contract Details: Permanent

Salary:£34,000 - £43,000 per annum + benefits

Hours: 37.5 hrs p/w-Days (early finish on Friday's)

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for various projects
• Collaborate with internal teams, including electrical engineers and project managers, to ensure successful project delivery
• Create detailed engineering drawings and models for manufacturing
• Conduct feasibility studies and analyse design options
• Perform calculations and simulations to validate design requirements
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement
• Develop design specifications and support the procurement process
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Troubleshoot design issues and propose effective solutions

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Solid understanding of engineering drawings (electrical and mechanical)
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks or AutoCAD
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

• Experience in the design of industrial machinery or equipment
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials selection
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software
• Project management experience
