BASIC SALARY: up to £50,000

JOB DESCRIPTION:Mechanical Design Engineer/Equipment Design/Utility Distribution
 
Reporting to the Technical Director, you'll take ownership of projects from cradle to grave. You'll visit client sites to visualise challenges prior design conception, liaise with on-site departments including the manufacturing and testing teams and support clients post delivery. These projects will be a mixture of one-off solutions, high volume products and next generation ideas. The ability to juggle several projects at different stages offers a great balance of challenges to keep things interesting and fresh. Innovation and quality are at the core of what we do.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
You'll be working on several projects at any one time, at different stages with different challenges.
 
Main duties will include:
· Detailed design of new products from cradle to grave.
· Redevelopment of existing products to enhance design, cut costs or improve ease of use.
· Prototype testing.
· Implement and monitor field trials.
· Liaise with clients, other engineers and the manufacturing team.
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION:Mechanical Design Engineer/Equipment Design/Utility Distribution
 
You'll be an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a HND or equivalent qualification who has exposure and experience to:
· Leading and managing design projects through the entire production cycle.
· Expert knowledge of SolidWorks CAD package (you may have used others but SolidWorks understanding is essential)
· Ability to include and collaborate with the in-house manufacturing and testing team.
· Detail orientated, critical thinker with an eye towards future innovative projects.
· Able to manage different projects at various stages to deadlines and budgets.
