We're supporting a UK market leader with over two decades of experience in the design & engineering of high-quality products for automotive sector.
Due to healthy growth in the business, they're looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. You will work closely with the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to design & develop new and existing products. The role will also see you creating part numbers, BOM's and fitting instructions.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to

• Design and create cost effective models in SolidWorks of mechanical components
• Collate 3D scan data using surface scanning or probe technology to build accurate data and models
• Provide support with failure mode analysis, addressing quality complaints, working closely with component manufacturers to ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Support the sales, quality control, warranty and purchasing teams
• Create part numbers and product BOM's
• Create fitting instructions
• Create inspection programs for the quality control team

Experiences required

• Competent 3D modeller using SolidWorks
• Educated or time served within Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Must have previous professional experience within Engineering
• Able to competently create technical detailed manufacturing drawing packs for CNC or casting production
• Experience in FEA or CFD analysis using Simulation or Abaqus is desirable
• If you have worked with 3D Printers for Rapid Prototyping & 3D scanners this is desirable
